Edacious Product Updates: Introducing the Pro Platform

Welcome to Edacious Product Updates.

We've been building the Edacious Pro Platform—our food and nutrition intelligence software—for over three years now, and we're long overdue to share what we’ve been up to.

With the launch of the Platform section of this website, you can see the core functionality we’ve developed:

While we’ve got a few more unreleased tricks up our sleeves for various food system professionals, the above features form the foundation of the customer journey for our largest segment: Branded Food Producers.

Focus: Branded Food Producers

These are the businesses producing food and selling it under their own label. They might be large regional farm brands like Alexandre Family Farms, or a butchery and distributor like Cream Co. Meats. They could be a packaged food brand selling at national retailers like SIMPLi, a direct-to-consumer brand selling fresh fish straight to your door like Seatopia, or a combination of both, like Patagonia Provisions.

What do these businesses have in common? They all want to understand and communicate the unique nutritional story of their products. Pro Platform was built to do exactly that.

How? We break our process down into three steps:

  1. Analyze. We begin with accredited testing, usually through our own Food Lab. Results are automatically uploaded to Samples DB.
  2. Discover. To ensure you don't get lost in the weeds of raw data, we aggregate sample analyses into one interactive tool: Product Manager.
  3. Activate. Once you understand your data, it’s time to use it. From updated packaging via our Nutrition Facts Labels to verifying marketing language with the Claims Guide, we help you turn data into a competitive advantage. Finally, you can share these insights directly with consumers using Web Embeds and Online Listings.

Step 1: Analyze

Samples DB

Samples DB is a smart “database”, purpose-built for lab results and any other data you’d want to collect about a food sample. Designed as a collaborative “source of truth” for your team, it’s the ideal place to store data for research or compliance.

Each physical sample from our lab gets a dedicated page. Users are able to see individual results in an intuitive format, automatically converted into your serving sizes and contextualized with FDA Daily Values.

Alas, a single sample only tells you part of the story. To see the bigger picture, you need Product Manager.

Step 2: Discover

Product Manager

Product Manager combines any number of tested samples with regulatory information and benchmark comparison data. Users can toggle between two primary views of their data:

Combined Analysis: This view calculates averages across all of your samples, which are compared with FDA Daily Values and other dietary references to provide a clear picture of your product’s health profile.

Compare: Variability matters. Understanding your averages in the context of your variability helps you determine which claims are smart to make and can even reveal insights into your production—whether lot-to-lot, seasonally, or over time. You can also compare your products against our growing database of Food Benchmark Data (e.g., comparing your apples to the national average, or to other substitutes).

Food Claims Guide

In the U.S., food is strictly regulated by the FDA and USDA—their rules govern every statement you make. Our Claims Guide compares your test averages against an evergreen set of official regulations to tell you exactly which nutrient content or health claims you are eligible to make.

We’re actively working to make this feature more comprehensive, but already have a solid start covering all nutrient content claims and health claims. Look for novel permissible claims later this year.

Step 3: Activate:

Nutrition Facts Label Creator

Updating your brand story usually requires the "boring" but vital step of updating your packaging. Ours is the only label creator that generates print-ready, NLEA-compliant labels based directly on real lab results.

The software handles complex rounding rules automatically based on your serving sizes. We automatically generate the mandatory label for every product, and subscribers can use our powerful editor to customize labels with voluntary nutrients.

In addition, you can export a methodology PDF, perfect for required USDA submission and voluntary FDA submission.

Web Embeds

Don't let your hard-earned data sit in a static PDF. Grab a simple line of code from the Pro Platform to embed interactive results directly on your website. The current version allows you to showcase nutrients, contaminants, or combined versions with the same FDA context found in the platform.

We’re just getting started here—look out for updates about exciting new features soon.

Online Listings

Last but not least, brands can choose to publish their product analysis and brand page directly on our Food Data website. This allows you to share results via a unique URL (like this demo product). We have big changes coming to this site soon, so stay tuned for updates.

What’s next?

2026 is going to be an exciting year. We’re putting the finishing touches on a bunch of features that have been in the works for long time, including enhanced Food Benchmark Data, upgraded Web Embeds, and more robust Label Creation tools.

To stay in the loop, subscribe to our newsletter in the footer of this website.

Whether you’re an existing Edacious customer, or curious about working with us, we’d love to hear from you.

Onwards and upwards,
