Lab Tests

• Do I have to order a Discovery Package before I can purchase other Lab tests?

  Nope! (But it probably makes sense, given that the Discovery Package is a big discount over other tests).

  

• Can I order analysis of just one sample?

  Sure! Check out our single-sample Nutrient Density Analysis, or individual tests. Keep in mind that the Nutrient Density Analysis is significantly more cost-effective compared to ordering individual tests, and the Discovery Package offers even greater savings compared to multiple Nutrient Density Analyses. Discovery Package

• What can I include in the 6 samples?

  Include up to 6 samples of the same food or product, analyzed in a batch at the same time. Our lab needs to receive all of the samples and process them together. This batching is how we can keep prices low.

  

• How should I collect samples to represent variability?

  You may wish to send 6 samples from different points in time, from different producers, fields, production methods, input treatments, etc. You’ve got a lot of options—talk to our team about what you’re trying to achieve. We just need to receive the samples together, and they need to be of the same food type.

  

• Can I add additional testing to bundled services like a Discovery Package?

  Yes! You can add any additional tests from our catalog for an additional fee.

  

• What if I want to test more samples?

• How can you offer prices this low compared to the industry?

  Our lab batches samples of the same food type, and focuses on offering high-throughput results of the above standard panel of analysis. That’s why the above Nutrient Density Analysis is discounted compared to other specific tests.

  

• Is your lab accredited?

  Yes, we’re ISO/IEC 17025 accredited by ANAB.

  

• How do I get my samples to you?

  Our customer success team will give you detailed instructions based on your food type. Note that prices here do not include the cost of shipping to our lab.

  

• Can I get more than one Discovery Package for multiple foods?

  Sure! You’re free to order as many as you’d like for different foods, or even to add samples to the same food at a different point in time.

  

• Are my results private?

  Your results are completely private to you unless you choose otherwise.

  

• What results can I choose to publish online?

  If you choose to publish, all results generated by Edacious Labs and partner labs are eligible.

  

• Why don’t you include [the nutrient I'm looking for]?

  We've tried to strike a balance between low-cost testing and a "nutrient density" profile that represents a good overview of most foods—so we chose to omit some analytes to keep costs reasonable. For example, Vitamin K analysis is notoriously time-consuming, and including it would increase the cost of our standard test by over $1,000. However, it's available as an optional add-on—see our catalog for Vitamin K details and other available add-ons.

• Do you offer discounts?

  Yes! We do offer regular discounts for ordering more testing with us. There are a few ways to unlock them:
  

  • Upgrade your software tier to unlock 10-20% discounts on any additional lab analysis at any time while your subscription is active.
  • Test multiple products with us: unlock 10% off lab analysis by ordering discovery reports for at least 5 Products when you pay for your order all at once.

  In addition, we have a few special partnership programs with various industry associations, trade groups, research organizations, and agriculture businesses. Member discounts are extended based on the agreements we have with each organization, so be sure to check in with your industry partners.
  

  

• Do discounts stack or combine?

  (Or, if I’m eligible for multiple discounts, can I combine them for a bigger discount?) No, but we’ll honor the largest discount you’re eligible for.
  

  

Billing

• Can I pay month by month?

  No. You’ll see the monthly price, but we currently require annual payment for software plans.

  

• Can I change my plan?

• Can I cancel my software plan?

  Yes. Just contact your Edacious representative to cancel.
  

  

• What happens to my data and account if I cancel?

  Your Organization account reverts to a (free) Discovery Tier. All data that is owned by you is viewable, but you’ll lose access to editing.
